TIMMINS POLICE SERVICE SEEK PUBLIC ASSISTANCE IN LOCATING MURDER

The Timmins Police Service is continuing its investigation into a suspicious death where human
remains were located inside a burned vehicle in the Gold Centre area of Timmins on the
afternoon of May 18th, 2018.

The investigation continues to be conducted in collaboration with the Ontario Provincial Police,
the Office of the Regional Coroner and the Ontario Fire Marshall’s Office.

In the afternoon of May 18th, 2018 the Timmins Police Service responded to the call of a vehicle
fire that had just been extinguished, where human remains were located inside.

A post-mortem examination is scheduled for Tuesday May 22nd, 2018 in Toronto. The identity
of the deceased person has not yet been confirmed through forensic means.

The Timmins Police Service currently holds a warrant for the arrest of:
Richard (“Ricky”) GREEN, 41 of Timmins (Schumacher). GREEN is described as a white
male, approximately 5’10” tall and 190 lbs with a medium build. He has reddish brown long hair,
usually worn in a ponytail and has a reddish brown goatee and un-kept beard. He has
green/blue eyes.

• Arson to property contrary to s. 434 of the Criminal Code
• Theft of motor vehicle contrary to s. 333.1of the Criminal Code
• Indignity to dead body contrary to s. 182(a) of the Criminal Code

Although the identity of the deceased is not officially confirmed, investigators believe that the
suspect and the person, who is believed to be the deceased, were known to each other. This
was not a random act.

The Timmins Police Service is seeking public assistance in locating Richard GREEN and
encourages anyone with any information on his whereabouts to contact the Timmins Police
Service or Crime Stoppers. If you see GREEN, do not try to approach him, and call 911.
