The Ontario government will require children who attend elementary or secondary school this fall to be vaccinated against three additional illnesses.

Before heading back to class, students will need to provide proof of immunization against meningococcal disease, whooping cough and, if born in 2010 or later, chickenpox.

Parents will not have to pay out of pocket for the vaccines.

Mandatory ?? They can't force people to take needles. What's wrong with them ? Home school will get popular I guess.

THey can't force them but parents must sign a waiver and if ever a transmissible disease is in the community, those students can be forced to stay home.

Vaccinations are perfectly safe, regardless of what jenny McCarthy says. The reason behind vaccinations other than to protect those who receive it, is also to protect those who are unable to be vaccinated due to their age or underlying medical condition.
