That does not look good. Not a cheap fix for sure. In fact not worth fixing I would say.

Monitor issue?

This is my daughters old laptop. It did this years ago when we were in Toronto at a hotel. She has another that did the same, at a hotel. She didn't drop it but maybe the hotel staff were playing catch with them, not sure.

I'm wonder if it's a video card issue or something like that. Any computer techs here?

I was using it to view KODI on my TV and now it won't even do that. Worked one day and not the next. Of course i can't tell if I'm even logged into the Windows account. [angry

So it doesn't even work on an external monitor/tv?

I used to replace laptop screens once in awhile when I was working up there. Price probably around $55 - $80 US for the screen itself plus labour. You'd be looking at $150. (for you..........$$$$$$$$$$$$$)

As for starting it with the external monitor/TV. Normally, my experience is if you put your TV on and switched to the proper input like HDMI1, PC IN or whatever it uses, and THEN power on the laptop, it usually starts to show on the external display right away. Depending on the OS you might be able to log it in by memory. You can do EVERYTHING by the keyboard including selecting the user profile by using the arrow keys.

What OS is running on it?

OK, how many account logins were there on the screen or did you have to do the Ctrl-Alt-Del thing to "unlock" the PC first?

Win + P brings up the display mode options and it's usually five options across. Don't remember the order but try with one of your laptops to see. Just use the arrows to select then hit enter. These options will probably appear regardless if you anything connected.

Your pic to me would be screen itself. Your graphics card is probably fine.

I've tried using the arrow, tab and enter keys in the past when I could remember what exactly was laid out on the screen and would sometimes log it in.
