Jamie Lim running for PCs?

#1

Post by toaster » Wed Sep 27, 2017 9:31 am

I've heard some rumours (so this is alleged) that former Timmins mayor, Jamie Lim, may be running under the Ontario PC banner in the next provincial election in the newly created "Timmins" riding. Anyone else hear anything? A friend of a friend allegedly received an automated voice call asking if they would vote for Jamie Lim as the PC candidate, and mentioned Gilles Bisson as the ONDP candidate (although he hasn't decided if he's running in Timmins or the newly created Mushkegowuk riding).

Toaster: I think you or somebody else mentioned that in another forum.

There were rumours in the last few provincial elections that Jamie Lim would be the PC candidate. I really don't even know if she has ever had any association with the PC Party.

The only real plus in having her as a candidate for the PC Party is name recognition. Nobody really has a chance against Gilles Bisson and the PCs aren't like they used to be (1940s to 1980s) when they were quite moderate and appealing to Northerners. And Bisson would be running in Timmins. He will only have to campaign within city limits.

Jamie Lim's political past is something I'm wondering if people will remember.
