Starbucks....MMM.......coffee that tastes and smells like burnt rubber. Not that Timmy Ho is much better. I actually miss Country Style.

Don't blame you. However, to be fair I don't think I've ever had a "real" latte. I'm sure what passes at Tim's, McDs and other chains aren't really the true drinks.

There was talk that Vrancor, the same people that own the Holiday Inn and the Hampton inn, wanted to develop a property which would include a Starbucks. I heard that a year ago. Nothing has happened since. So beyond the self serve starbucks coffee at the Science village, I guess we have to wait.

I think I predicted on a past thread that we would have a Starbucks by 2019 or 2020.

As for the rest of Northern Ontario:

North Bay did have one in their Target store but of course closed when Target left. I heard that North Bay will soon have one again and I did read that there is a plan for one in a downtown development. Here is the link: http://www.nugget.ca/2016/03/19/develop ... ront-hotel Vrancor is behind it.

I'm still surprised that Sudbury still only has the Chapters location. (Laurentian University has one but it's not easy to get to) The Sault has one in Pino's grocery store and I've been to it a lot. Thunder Bay has at four locations. Most if not all of the Safeway grocery store locations in Northwestern Ontario have Starbucks in them at that includes Thunder Bay, Fort Frances, Dryden and Kenora.

If the Holiday Inn Express has more property then I'd say that would be the logical place to build a Starbucks. I always thought that it would go well with Pick of the Crop too because of the clientele, lots of pedestrian and vehicular traffic and being close to many downtown offices.
