I know a guy who is almost as old as me and was hired there. He has had pretty intense training but says he likes the people he's working with.

I've been three times already. (I have a gift card John so I didn't spend a thing!)

The drinks have been great. Service was excellent. All the baristas have been very friendly and seem happy to be working there. So far the Timmins location has been the busiest Starbucks location in Canada every day it has been open. (there are over 1500 locations in Canada) They have run out of a number of supplies and can't make Frappucinos and Refreshers until next week. But I enjoy lattes so it's all good. It will be a big hang-out place for students and younger adults. But I did see a number of older people in there.

Overpriced, IMO.

To each their own I guess.

Stupid made up names for sizes...pretentious idiots.

Coffee made at home tastes 100x better anyways.

There is much more there than coffee based beverages. I like their teas and one of my favourite drinks there is the caramel apple spice which is a hot cinnamon apple cider with whipped cream on top.

I realize that Starbucks doesn't appeal to everybody. I too enjoy the drinks I make at home.

Fair enough.

I never could drink Apple Cider, at least not the hot version. I find it WAYYYYY beyond too tart that my cheeks hurt. I don't know why.

Don't get me wrong, not my style. But, it gives more competition in the hot beverage market up there. That's always a good thing.

Very busy most evenings and weekends. Went there early afternoon yesterday and there were about five people ahead of me in line.

When I was ordering there were about 10 people behind me and it got busier right after. Most Starbucks I've been to don't normally have lineups throughout the day. The only exceptions are some airport locations and the one in Sudbury inside the Chapters.

It may seem busier too because there is no drive thru.

I been to Starbucks drive-thrus in both Canada and the U.S. and they aren't normally very busy. No big car lineups. The main reason is because you don't get fast service like Tim Hortons because many of their drinks take longer to make and are much more complicated.
